How to Find Rays Mod Maps
Pick a tile after you pick a server type, then turn on StreamingEnabled before a huge community map eats the client.
Maps are the second decision in Rays Mod after server type. The game is a free Roblox sandbox remake of Garry’s Mod by dreamy™ / RayAurus, live since 1 May 2020, currently on v5.7 / v5.7.1. The live title still advertises Clark & Verity addons as of the 14 August 2026 place update. None of that changes the map picker. You still choose Multiplayer, Singleplayer, or a 10 Robux private server (max 25), then you pick a tile.

Where the map list actually lives
Open the main menu. Choose a server type first. The map list appears after that choice, not in the left-side addon store. The store sells packs. The map list loads worlds. Mixing those two screens is how people buy Nextbots Pack 6 and then spawn it on a Power Surge tile they cannot leave.
Official sandbox tiles are the right first pick. They are flat enough to freeze a crate, weld a wall, and Save n Load without a horror chaser. Community maps added across v5.5–v5.7 (forty in an older wave, six called out in the current v5.7 description, fourteen in a parallel notes wave) can be cities, interiors, or joke maps. Read the thumbnail. If it looks like a chase, it is a chase.
Gamemode tiles versus sandbox tiles
Power Surge is the Target Practice room. You go there for the Golden AK-47 badge, not for a first house. Details: badge guide. Zombie survival is the Survived 10 minutes room. You go there for a timer, not for Save n Load. Community modes rotate. Treat an unknown tile as “sandbox until proven otherwise,” then leave if the win condition is a score.
Sandbox tiles have no round timer that matters. That is where build and Save n Load belongs. That is also where PVP toggle should usually sit on off so Angel Mode stays intact while you weld.
StreamingEnabled and big community maps
v5.6 added a StreamingEnabled option when you start a server. Turn it on for large community maps. It streams parts in as you move instead of loading the whole tile at once. The official notes call it a drastic boost on big maps. It is the difference between a 2020 laptop joining a city tile and the same laptop sitting on the menu.
Turn it off only if a specific prop you need never appears. Test that in singleplayer before you blame the map. If the tile still stutters after StreamingEnabled, pick a smaller official sandbox and come back later.
How to change map without rage-quitting
In public multiplayer you vote. You do not own the tile. If the lobby wants Nextbots and you want a house, leave and start singleplayer or a private server. In singleplayer you can re-pick from the menu. In a private server you host, so you pick. The v5.6 invite friends to your private server feature works on unofficial maps — that is the sentence people skip. Invite after the tile is loaded, not before, so friends do not land on a leftover vote.
Max players stay 25 on every tile. A city map with 25 Physics Guns is louder than a box map with 8. Plan the count on play with friends.
What the current patch line added to the list
The v5.7 description still printed on the experience page as of 14 August 2026 lists six new community maps. Earlier waves added dozens more. Do not expect this wiki to screenshot every thumbnail. Expect it to tell you which kind of tile to open: sandbox for building, Power Surge for Target Practice, zombie for the ten-minute badge, community horror for Nextbots, community city for Cops n Crooks and Citizen Vehicles.
Clark and Verity are addon banner names, not map names. Do not search the map list for Clark. Search the left-side store. The catalog note is Clark and Verity addons.
A first-week map plan
Night 1: official sandbox, PVP off, stock props. Night 2: same tile, Tool Gun weld, one Save n Load. Night 3: a small community city if StreamingEnabled is on. Night 4: Power Surge only if you want Target Practice. Night 5: zombie survival only if you want Survived 10 minutes. Night 6–7: stay on a sandbox so Day 7 Mission extras are not claimed inside a chase. The mission planner can sit beside that week.
If a YouTuber’s “secret map code” is a string, ignore it. Maps are tiles, not redeem codes. The codes hub exists to say that out loud.
