Rays Mod Build and Save n Load

Building in Rays Mod is three verbs: freeze with the Physics Gun, weld with the Tool Gun, and Save n Load so the shape outlives the server. v5.7 shipped patches on Save n Load. v5.7.1 added spawn undoing, a louder prop-damage toggle, and a cleaner color picker. This page is the persistence guide. Binds stay on Physics Gun and Tool Gun.

You can build in public multiplayer, singleplayer, or a 10 Robux private server (max 25). Private is the right place for a first save. Public is where other Physics Guns steal your plank. Singleplayer is where Admin Revolver exists if you own the pass — it is a terrible building tool and a fine way to delete your own save. Do not mix those jobs.

Freeze is not a save

Freeze pins an object in the current server. It dies when the instance dies, when someone unfreezes it, or when a Nextbot yeets the post. Use freeze to hold a piece while you weld. Use weld to make a rigid body. Use Save n Load to write that rigid body to a slot. Players who only freeze and then leave are the reason this page exists.

A clean order: spawn, grab, place, E to straighten, freeze, weld to the last frozen piece, unfreeze the pair, test a Physics Gun tug, then save. If the tug splits the pair, the weld missed. Undo the spawn if v5.7.1 is live, or remover-tool the stray prop.

Save n Load after the v5.7 patches

Open the Save n Load UI from the spawn overlay (hold Q / tap Spawn) or from the Tool Gun extras, depending on your client. Save into a named slot. Load only on a map with enough flat space. Loading a fortress into a tiny Power Surge arena is how you crush the target practice your friend needed for Golden AK-47.

Pre-v5.7 saves had a reputation for missing welds or ghosting props. The official v5.7 text says those cases were patched. If an old slot still misbehaves, rebuild one wall in a new slot instead of stacking loads. Do not run an unofficial script to “fix” a save. That path is account risk and it can wipe the room; see safer script habits.

StreamingEnabled is an option on large community maps. Turn it on if props pop in late and your load looks half-deleted. Turn it off if you are filming and you need every crate present before you hit record. It is a streaming flag, not a second save system.

Structures that survive other players

Weld to the map when the client lets you. A house that only welds to itself will slide when a SecondLogic truck hits the porch. Keep a freeze on the foundation until the last weld lands. Avoid thrusters on the finished house. Avoid bombs as decoration. Avoid Nextbot spawners inside the living room.

PVP off plus Angel Mode is the polite build server. You still need Save n Load, because a polite server can still close. If someone insists on PVP, move the project to private. A 10 Robux server is cheaper than rebuilding.

What not to save

Do not save a pile of untested addon packs you do not own on the target account. The load will ghost those props for anyone missing the pack. Do not save a grief machine and call it a base. Do not save in the last ten seconds of a gamemode round. Do not overwrite slot 1 with a joke. Keep slot 1 as the house you actually like.

Credits still apply to the toys inside a save: vehicles by SecondLogic, plane by Crazyman32, icons by HappyDeppy. If a loaded car lacks seats, you may be missing the vehicle pack, not the save file.
