Rays Mod NPCs and Nextbots
3D NPCs, 2D chasers, Cops n Crooks, and when not to dump a pack into a build lobby.
NPCs are the living things in the Rays Mod spawn menu that are not players. The category now includes stock humanoids, ragdolls, Cops n Crooks characters from a v5.7-era notes wave, and a long shelf of Nextbot packs. This page is the bestiary. Pack prices and test advice sit on how to get addons. Rankings sit on the addon tier list.
You spawn NPCs from hold Q / tap Spawn. You buy packs from the main menu left side. You do not redeem NPC codes, because the game has none.
Stock NPCs and ragdolls
A new account can already spawn basic NPCs and ragdolls. Use them to test prop damage, Super Gravity Gun grabs, and Tool Gun welds that should not attach to a living hitbox. If you came from Garry’s Mod, this is the “spawn a human and a crate” moment. It is free. It is enough for a first hour.
Ragdolls are not Nextbots. They do not chase. They do not need a pack. If a ragdoll stands up and runs at you, you spawned the wrong tab.
Cops n Crooks
Notes around the v5.7 line mention six new NPCs (Cops n Crooks). They are role toys: uniforms, chase scenes, and film setups. They are not a full GTA replacement. Spawn them in a city-style community map, not in Power Surge. If the row is a Mission Point listing, test it. If it is bundled into a “guys” pack after v5.7.1, test the pack.
Cops n Crooks pairs well with Citizen Vehicles and poorly with a PVP-on military lobby. Use Angel Mode if the room is filming.
Nextbot packs 1–6
Public store scrapes list Nextbots Pack 1 through 6 at modest Robux prices (often 25–50). They are 2D chasers in the current Roblox horror style. v5.7.1 made them testable packs. Test in singleplayer. A Nextbot in a 25-player build server is how Save n Load houses die.
Earlier notes said Nextbots were “less dumb” after a patch. That means they path better, not that they are polite. If you want a chase map, vote a community horror map from the map tier list and warn the server. If you want a workshop, do not spawn them.
SCP Addons Pack sits next to Nextbots in the store and in people’s heads. It is a different license vibe and a different grief profile. Test it as props and containment toys first. Do not assume every SCP row is a chaser.
Super people, classic guys, pack of the guys
These packs are 3D character dumps: heroes, memes, and film extras. They fill a scene. They rarely justify a public-server flood. Spawn two, not twenty. StreamingEnabled helps when a community map plus twenty humanoids starts popping in late.
Silly Addons can include joke NPCs next to the Cat Gun. If the test spawn is a meme you will use once, skip it unless Mission Points are burning a hole.
Manners, PVP, and scripts
NPCs do not care about your Angel Mode badge, but players do. Announce a Nextbot dump. Offer a private 10 Robux server if two people want a chase and twelve people want a house. A script that spawns every Nextbot at once is unofficial and is the same grief as the destruction toggle we refuse to document. See safer script habits.
Zombie survival badges (Survived 10 minutes) use a gamemode map’s own entities. You do not need a Nextbot pack for that badge. Do not confuse store chasers with mode enemies.
When you can pick a tab — stock, Cops n Crooks, Nextbots, guys — without opening every pack, you are done. Go film a scene or go close the menu. The addons hub still has weapons and vehicles if the next toy should shoot or drive instead of chase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Rays Mod questions.
Are Nextbots included in Rays Mod for free?
Stock NPCs and ragdolls are free. Nextbot packs are store rows you should test before buying.
What is Cops n Crooks in Rays Mod?
A v5.7-era NPC set for cop and crook scenes. It is not a full separate game. Test the listing before you spend points.
Should I spawn Nextbots in a public build server?
No. Use singleplayer or a private server. Public rooms are where people save houses and hunt badges.
Do I need a script to spawn all NPCs?
No. That is unofficial. Use the spawn menu and the store. Warnings are on the scripts hub.
